Chess Wiz Tanraj Sohal Wins BC Open Championship Again

SURREY – Current BC champion Tanraj Sohalhas won the 2014 BCOpen Chess Championship held in Richmond, BC, on February 8-10.BC Open Championship is the annual prestigious BC chess tournament and this was 50 year anniversary of this event.
Seventy-six players of all ages participated in this tournament and played 6 rounds over 3days on this BC Family Day weekend. Tanraj, a grade 12 student from Surrey, was the first place winner who repeated as champion from last year.
Tanraj also won the2013 BC Closed Chess Championship in October, 2013.
