The first commenter is correct but for the typo.
The “only one solution”?? It’s not as fast but 1. Rh8+ Kg5 2. h4+ Bxh4 3. f4+ Kg4 4. Qf3# also works.
1. Qh7+ Rxh7
2. Rg6 mate.
Oops. Thanks to Yancey for having pointed out the typo.
1.Qh7+ Kg5 and then I think Black can escape a barrage of checks. I think American Jeff has the correct solution, but I’m too tired to calculate more.
Mate in two with Qh7+. Took about 10 seconds because I only looked at that one line.
1.Rh8+ Kg5
2.h4+ Bxh4
3.Qe3#
“Look at forcing moves first” … so the answer is ‘yes’
1.qh7+ rxh7??
2.rg6#
1..kg5
2. rxg7+ kf4 etc.
1. Qh7+ Kg5
2. Qg7+ Kh4
3. Qg3+ B*g3
4. h*g3#
2. … Kf4
3. Qg5#
I think the solution is :
1.Qh7+, Rxh7.
2.Rg6#
but i resolt in one minut and half.sorry, but my brain is not training in this kind of exercises. thank you.
Rh8..Rh7
Qg6
qh7+ RXQ RG6+n mate
1. Qh7+ Kg5
2. h4+ Kf4
and once again black can survive a flurry of checks (2…Bxf4 is not forced)
1.Qh7+ Kg5 (1.-Rxh7 2.Rg6++) 2.Qxg7+
any move 3.Qg5++
Took a bit longer than 45 seconds.
yep, about 45s
