looks straightforward:
Ng5 fxg5
f6
ng5 next move f6
Ng5 fxg5 f5 wins
Oh come now..these are getting too simple…ng5 then f6 with mate…thats something…like the last problem anyone should know.
Lots of simple ones today- Ng5 is a mate in 4 max:
1. Ng5 Bf5
Here, fg5 is mate starting with f6! followed by Qg7#. Bf5 protects h7, but the mate still comes:
2. gf5
Also, Rf5 mate in 4 total: [2.Rf5 fg5 3.Rg5 Kh8 4.Qg7#]. Continuing:
2. …..fg5 (Re8 3.Qh7 Kf8 4.Qf7#)
3. f6 any
4. Qg7#
1.Ng5 threatening mate on h7 with the queen
1…fxg5 only move to avoid mate
2.f6 any move
3.Qg7#
1. Ng5 fg5
2. f6 any move
3. Qg7 ++
1.Ng5 PxN
2.f6 any move
3. Qg7mate
or
1. . BxP
2.PxB PxN
3.Pf6 any move
4.Qg7mate
1-ng5 fxg5 2-f5 and mate nalawadhi- kuwait
Ng5!
1.Ng5 fxg5 (forced), 2.f6 and mate next.
an obvious solution looks like…
1)Ng5, fxg5
2)f6 !!
Now i don’t see how black can prevent the mating move Qg7#
Ng5

1 Ng5 f:g; 2 f6 and wins
Ng5 followed by f6 seals it for white
1.Ng5 fxg5
2.f6
Pg5
What about Ng5 (threatening mate on h7) fxg5 f6! and after Ne6 simply Rxe6 followed by mate on g7
1. Ng5 fxg5 (1. … Rfe8 below)
2. f6 black moves
3. Qg7++
1. … Rfe8
2. Qh7+ Kf8
3. Qf7++
Hi Susan Polgar,
This is my third post for this puzzle.
In 1st post – Given moves,assuming the knight at wrong position initially.
In 2nd post – Given moves with an urgency,so that wasn’t the best combination for win.
Now 3rd Post – To give the best combination for White piece to win.
1.Ng5 f*Ng5
2.f6 Q*b2
3.Qg7++ mate
So initial move for white “Ng5” – definite win.

Ng5 should be decisive.

2. f6
1. … Re8

greets, jan
Some very elementary mates are here either threatened or materialize. Easy to solve, but interesting nevertheless.
1. Ng5 (threat: Qxh7#)
1. … Bxf5 or [1. … Rfe8 2. Qxh7+ Kf8 3. Qh8#]
or [1. … fxg5 2. f6 any 3. Qg7#]
2. gxf5 or [2. Rxf5 fxg5 3. Rxg5+ Kh8 4. Qf6#]
2. … fxg5
3. f6 any
4. Qg7#
