The construction for the SPICE Chess Park has begun. It is located between the Texas Tech University Library and the Texas Tech Student Union Building, one of the busiest locations on campus.

A first for Universities anywhere!
It would be nice to hear input from other on outdoor chess tables. Do any other universities have them? My feeling is that they are quite rare on campuses especially in North America. Let us know…
