        Pretty simple mate in 4:

        1. Qd5 Ke7 (Ke8 2.Qf7 Kd8 3.Qf8#)
        2. Qf7 Kd6
        3. Qf8 Ke6

I see a mate in four. This puzzle is a homage to the Queen.

it´s always nice to operate against the deserted king:
        1. Qd5+ Ke8 (Bd7, 2. Qxd7#)
        2. Qf7+ Kd8
        3. Qd7#
        1. … Ke7
        2. Nxg6+ Ke8
        3. Qc6+ Kd8
        4. Qf6+ Kd7 (Ke8, 5. Qe7#)
        5. Ne5+ Ke8
        6. Qf7+ Kd8
        7. Qd7#
        3. … Kf7
        4. Qf6+ Kg8 (Ke8, 5. Qe7#)
        5. Qf8+ Kh7
        6. Qh8#
        greets, jan

This appears to be another mate in 5:

        1. Qd5 Ke7 (or see below)
        2. Nxg6+ Ke8 (only)
        3. Qg8+ Kd7 (only)
        4. Qf7+ Kd6 (Kd8 Qe7#)
        5. Qd5#

        or
        1. … Ke8
        2. Qf7+ Kd8 (only)
        3. Qf8#

Basic idea is to attack from kingside since black so much blocks himself on queenside.

        1. Qa8-d5+

        If 1. … Bc8-d7 2. Qd5xd7#

        If 1. … Kd8-e8 2. Qd5-f7+ Ke8-d8 3. Qf7-f8#

If 1. … Kd8-e7 then it gets a bit lengthier, and White has to be very accurate. One possible line then is 2. Qd5-c5+ Ke7-e6 3. Qc5-c6+ Ke6-e7 4. Qc6-f6+ followed by mate in at most two moves.

        Hi Susan Polgar,

Why is puzzle at this best site /Blog ? – Child’s puzzle.

The puzzle should be the toughest one for humans,so it ever breeds the interest to solve it. [ Note : I had never used any machine to solve the puzzles just because it takes away the passion for the game ]
