The most successful year for the Cori siblings

      Deysi Cori, Jorge Cori, Peru

Cori siblings say 2011 was most successful year in their lives
      Date: 24/12/2011

Lima, Dec. 24 (ANDINA). Peruvian siblings and chess Grandmasters Jorge and Deysi Cori stated Friday that so far 2011 was certainly the most successful and rewarding year of their sporting careers and added they expect to repeat it in the coming year.

Jorge went on to add that in this opportunity both obtained their titles the same year. Likewise, he remarked that the next year more important and complex goals are to come.

“It was a very successful season, my sister won the U-20 World Championship and I achieved the U-16 title,” Jorge Cori pointed out.

“In Argentina I also won many chess tournaments,” he said. In turn, Deysi agrees with his brother: “Yes, 2011 was the most important year so far, I was crowned World Junior Chess Champion and won five tournaments in Argentina. I feel very happy over what we are experiencing.”

In 2012, the winning pair will stay in Peru until late January. Then, they are expected to travel to Russia for about eight months where they will train with renowned grandmasters.
