The SPICE Cup field is completed

      Kamil Miton, SPICE, SPICE Cup

The top seed of the 2007 SPICE Cup Invitational Tournament GM Kamil Miton has finally arrived to Lubbock, Texas tonight. His flight from Poland was cancelled. So his family had to drive him more than 5 hours to the airport in Warsaw. From there, he flew to London. From London, he flew to Chicago then Dallas and finally Lubbock! He made a commitment to this tournament and he did everything possible to get here. A true warrior! He will begin the third and fourth round tomorrow and as normal and he will make up his games against GM Becerra and GM Hera next week.

I admire anyone who goes through that much trouble to honor any kind of commitment! There is a man who is true to his word! You have my admiration and respect!

Is there any website where one can play through the games?
Monroi is not working for me, and I’m not in ICC.

Curious route to Lubbock. Why didn’t he fly from Heraklion to London?

        For Anonymous 2007/11/11 4:03:00 AM…

I have just uploaded the PGN file to the Minnesota State Chess Assoc. website. Said file contains all the games for the first two rounds and will be updated daily to include the succeeding rounds.

While this does not address “real-time” viewing…it will provide an opportunity to view the games at your leisure once the games are concluded.

The URL for said page is:
        2007 SPICE Cup

        Enjoy!

Kamil is a proud daddy of a 2-month old boy. No wonder he preferred to see his son before Susan:)
