I don´t know…but I want to share something: I have a book with famous players’ sentences, here I have one of Mikhail Tahl. “If the chess is prohibited, I would probably make me smuggler”.I vote for him 🙂

        Tal, definitely.

Watch the YouTube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QC6eWfbzUdE and see the demonic stare at the 35 second mark… Fischer’s reaction is priceless.

No, it is Tigran Vartanovich Petrosian! Look here for yourself:

I would just answer the opposite question…Who is the less intimidating stare?

Mr. Ivanchuk in deep thinking concentration…Have you seen him??? LOL

GM Ulf Anderson used to say that none of the players he had played against had a stare like that of Kasparov’s.

I don’t like him, but I would say Kasparov

I remember reading a story that Pal Benko would wear sunglasses so he didn’t have to stare at Tal’s eyes …. ’nuff said.

Definitely Kasparov. I saw footage of him giving a lecture on a Bobby Fischer game, and someone made a noise. He immediately looked up and his eyes inspired intimidation, as if he was saying “who DARES make a sound while I am speaking?”

        The video is here:

        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fgqSucmAM3s

        The noise/stare is at 1:17

I’m fairly certain that it isn’t easy smiles that gained Kasparov the nickname “The Beast”.

And I’m certain that video was of Tal, not of Petrosian
