Actually, I think that after 1.Nxf5 gxf5 2.Rxd6+ is best, since after Kh5 white mates 3.Qd1+ Qe2 4.Qxe2#
After 1.Nxf5+ gxf5 2.Qf6+ mates next move.
2.Rxd6+ isn’t really a “mistake”; it just takes two moves longer to mate.
The other variation to consider is:
1. Nf5+ Kh5
I spent some time looking at 2. Rd5 before I noticed the simpler.
2. Qf6 the mate threats on g5 and h4 force the king to run.
2. … Kg4 3. Qg5+ Kf3 (3. … Kh3 4. Qh4#) 4. Nd4+ Ke3 5. f5#
What about 1. Kf2 (threat 2. Rh1+) Nd3+ 2. Kg2?
1 Kf2?? is met by 1..b2 and Black wins.
1 Nf5+! gf5 2 Qf6+ Kh5 3 Qg5# is the main line as noted above.
2 Rd6+ wins as well.
1Nf5+! Kh5 2 Qf6 with Qg5# being the main threat.
