I’m glad that negotiations are still continuing and the match hasn’t been called off. Kamsky earned this match by winning the World Open. I hope a neutral country can be found but, if not, then Kamsky should sign and play in Topalov’s home country. Ultimately, the best player will win.

And, on a more practical note: Why give up a 6-figure prize (even for the loser) just because of where the game is played. I mean, are these guys that rich that a few hundred thousand dollars (even for the loser) doesn’t matter?

I know there’s a lot of pride involved and ego.

And, on a side note, has Topalov ever played a major match or tournament in the U.S.A.? If not, then why can’t the match be played in the U.S.? Isn’t there someone or an organization here that would sponsor it?

Who cares? This match will be as boring as watching Anand play. Kamsky has no chance whatsoever of ever beating Topalov in a match. Whoever thinks otherwise is better off switching to parchese instead of chess…..since you are totally clueless about chess.

Kamsky won the world cup, not world open.

How do you know the negotiations are continuing? Maybe they will announce a Topalov-Shirov match in Bulgaria 😉
