8 games in 20 days and for 750.000 USD?? How silly. Too much money and not enough games. But of course the players are happy: the sponsor is paying almost a 100.000 USD per game…

I hate what FIDE has done to chess. But with Fischer gone who will stop them. I hope Gata Kamsky prevails over Topalov and I believe he will!

It is known that there are going to be 8 games since FIDE announced this system more than a year ago!!!

What does Fischer has to do with anything??? Fischer hasn’t talk or write to FIDE officials since 1975.

Thats what ticks me the most: People commentating things they know nothing about.

If they really are going to play eight games only over a period of twenty days this would be a joke, particluarly at a prize fund of $750k. Incredible…

Kamsky will get slaughtered. He will blame the US public for not giving him money to prepare properly.

He should have never crawled out from under the rock he had hid under for all these years.

Topalov is going to beat Kamsky senseless. Don’t be surprise if Kamsky retires after Topalov mops the floor with him.

        Such sillies!

The reason to have less games over a longer period of time is remove the justification for the short draws. If there is only 8 games, and you are well rested for all of them, then you’ll want to really fight hard!

I’ll bet some of the same people complaining about the games/days ratio have complained in the past about having too many short draws, too.

Make up your minds, people! 😛 😛

What happens in the event of a tie?

        Armageddon time!!

Yes, if no decision is made after the regular games, rapid play-off, blitz play-off, then the armageddon game will decide.
