Indeed! If all goes well, next year we will be treated to a great match between him and Anand.

Topalov is now guaranteed to extend the gap on the next official FIDE rating list- he is consolidating his number 1 position.

Since Kasparov became ranked as inactive, Topalov will have been the offial highest rated active player 6 times and Anand 6 times( although shared 1 time with Kramnik).

It is clear that Anand and Topalov have been the best 2 players since 2005/6.

Only Kamsky stands in the way of the two best players playing a mach- it would be a good warm up for Topalov if he wins as he has not yet proved himself in matches unlike Kamsky and Anand.

        Exciting times in chess.

To anonymous 9:47 – Alekhine was an arrogant narcissist, and Fischer was rude and hated Jews – does that make them lesser chess players? You are expected to appreciate Topalov’s chess mastery here, not to go out for a beer with him.

        To anon – 22:00
That is just what I meant. Anand is honourable and HONEST (and i’m only speaking of chess here)Alekhine and Fischer were arrogant but they played honest chess. Spassky himself has said that Fischer was a simple (IQ 180!but perhaps a low EQ?) and truthful person who never played ‘underhand’ chess with his opponents. His fight was mainly with the organisers.

Fischer was a nut job from day one.

Its like watching that movie Rain Man.

The guy was good at his obsession, but… didn’t do too well in the rest of thigs that mattered such as life.

What you talking about? Bla-bla-bla… Who is Topalov and why we must compare him to Anand? And at the end why some morons keep talking bad for Topalov? I dont know and i cant understand them. If you want to know who is Topalov look at the live ratings and i hope you will understand!
