New hedge fund on Long Island

Friday January 7, 2011 12:31 PM By Joseph Mallia

Long Island has a new hedge fund, based in Bohemia.

It’s called the Genius Hedge Fund, led by three partners who met through their interest in a board game.

“Our leaders developed their friendships through ardent games of chess; this challenged their mental capacities and required the highest levels of mathematical strategy and analysis,” the partners say on their website.

“Mastering the skills necessary to succeed in chess stimulates us and is integral to the principals of our company.”

The three are Alex Rabinovich, Victor Plotkin and A.J. Caro, seen above with a few chess sets.
