Located in the historical detached house of the 19th century Maecenas‘ Peter Smirnov, the restaurant “Marusya“ has a great honour to invite you to visit the intellectual evening devoted to the time-honoured game named CHESS on April 29th .
Just for one day the restaurant will become the real battlefield – the 12th World Chess Champion, the Grand Master Anatoly Karpov will play multi-board chess with twenty players – stars of showbiz, cinema, famous politicians and businessmen. The event will become the stage of a new world-wide project “World Chess Tour”.
The watch of the Swiss company IWC Schaffhausen: IWC Portuguese Chronograph и IWC Spitfire Mark XVI – will be presented to Anatoly Karpov and the best player of the evening.
Besides, this spring evening presents to everybody the possibility to take part in the game, including VIP – blitz tournament. The pleasant atmosphere, the dainty dishes from the chef of the restaurant, the whisky Maccalan and the pure water Perrier, the gifts from the partners of the show will wait for you. The accompaniment of the evening will be created by the well-known to Moscow public DJ: Larry Key and the group «Umbrella».

What’s the purpose?
It’s great to see Karpov still playing, even if it isn’t as a professional these days! I learnt more about chess from him than any other player! He’s a fantastic talent and a true chess icon!
