        1.Tc8+ Bxc8
        2.Lxg6 …
and white has a killer attack

        1. Be4 Qe4
        2. Rc8+ Bc8
        3. Qe4

        after Rc8+ Bc8 Bg6 black can simply play e5 followed by Rg5

my solution also was 1. be4 – keep things simple

        now consider the rc8 comments

        1. rc8+ bxc8 2. bxg6 e5 3. rg3 rxg5 4. qxg8 kf8 black still has a problem because only k and q are actually in play. for example 5. f4 qd4 (to avoid the opening of the f -file ) 6. kh1 e4 and it does look that white has a killer attack. but i dont pretend this analysis is precise

Bxg6 looks pretty forcing to me.

Except of course the mate on g2!

        After

        1. Be4 Qe4
        2. Rc8+

        Why not … Kh7?

“Bxg6 looks pretty forcing to me.”
It really is. 😉 You’re pretty much forcing him to mate you.

        1. Rc8+ Bxc8
        2. Be7

        2…..Qxd3
        3.Qf8+ Kh7
        4. Qf7+ Kh6
        5. Bf8#

        2….e5
        3. Qf8 Kh7
        4. Bf6 threatening mate on h8
        4….Qg8 only move.
        5. Bxg6 Kxg6 ( 5..Qxg6 6.Qh8#)

        6. Qxg8 Kxf6
        7. Qxc8 and I think White has a winning advantage. For example, White is threatening to win more material with 8. Qb7. On 7..Rxh4, White could reply 8. Qd8+ winning the Rook.
