Definitely Nakamura. He’s the best that’s ever lived.

A better question is Will Gelfand still be a 2700+ when he plays Vishy next year? The lower he goes the sillier FIDE looks, which I guess is good because it might mean we will get some serious change, productive of a championship cycle that actually makes sense in 2011/2.

If Naka was the best that’s ever lived he would not need Gary’s help. Is he best even in US? A match with Gata would be interesting.

Even if Gelfand goes below 2700, why should FIDE look sillier? Gentleman Boris earned his right to play the fair way. He did not chicken out like some others.

One of the 2800 players win but does anyone think there will be a player who does better than plus two?

Chicken out? He disagreed with the method which were going to be used to find the challenger. And Magnus definately had a point when 27 matched out of 30 resulted in remis. That is exactly what he was referring to.

Even FIDE has now realized this and the next challenger will qualify thorugh a tournament. If this happens, you can expect carlsen to be there.

I think it was Grischuk who rightly said ” If the favorites do not get thru blame the system”; Magnus is a great talent – in tournaments; Match and tournaments are like day and night
