      Bela Khotenashvili became the 4th female GM in her country after Gapridashvili, Chiburdanidze, and Dzagnidze.

      Warda Aulie Medina became the 2nd player in Indonesia to earn the WGM title. The first was Irine Kharisma Sukandar who also just fulfilled her norms for IM title. She just needs to raise her FIDE rating to 2400 to have the title confirmed.

      Bryan Smith of the US is now an official GM after trying hard for several years.
