        I don’t know about the fairness of it all, but the top 12 players seem like they have a cakewalk in the first round. The rating difference is at least 300 which is a shoein to advance. Having said that, these games will be probably the least interesting, unless there’s some huge upset… The 2nd round should be much more interesting…

        Amazing! First round of world championship, let us have Koneru vs Kosteniuk! Or Kosintseva vs Stefanova!

        Kinda like tennis,

        Let us have Federer vs Nadal in first round of Wimbledon, French Open, US Open etc…

        Stronger vs Weaker first

        Progressively, it is Stronger vs Stronger until the final, should the stronger make it!

        Got it?

        Please, do not try to make the women’s world championship less exciting. The games won’t necessarily be easy.

        What’s happened to the game between Arianne Caoili & Ju Wenjun ? It doesn’t appear as one of the live games.
