Carlsen’s withdrawal apparently is not certain.

Nothing is certain yet. also the game Carlsen is playing, seems to be grossly unfair to other participants ( apart from Topa – Kamsky ). It has possibly already upset their preparations to some extent. The only fair deal is to allow Rajdabov to proceed to the next round and retain the original pairings. The Hell with Carlsen.

It should be in RR format.

I heard Topalov is recently married. He’s got other things on his mind. Aronian is the one to watch and if he gets to the final, he’ll take Anand too.

Why the rant about Carlsen? He has a made a clear statement he is withdrawing and has said nothing since to the contrary. How many times do you have to say “I withdraw” before people think you are withdrawing?

The problem is with FIDE’s subsequent statements – it is only those that are giving the impression of ambiguity.

Or am I missing something else here?

Of course I will change my view if Carlsen changes his mind, but I think that very unlikely – the Carlsen’s have shown integrity in all their delaings so far.

I wouldn’t let Carlsen back in even if he changed his mind. He made his stand for what he believes is right, and now he should live with the consequences.

I will be very surprised if Aronian doesn’t make it to the final.

        Radjabov will kill Kramnik-the swine.

I’m a Kramink fan too but to call Radjabov a swine seems a bit strong 🙂

More seriously, it seems this match will come down to whether Radjabov’s KID will hold. Post-Kasparov, he is the best KID exponent by some margin, but Kramnik is particularly adept at disptaching it too.

This is an easy prediction. Aronian is currently playing better than the rest, and will coast to the final and become the next WC. Carlsen can change his mind for all we care, but the result will be the same.

How stupid is this? Kamsky and Gelfand? Carlsen is the #1 and should play Anand by default! In boxing the #1 contender gets to fight the champ, not guys who aren’t even in the top ten! They don’t deserve even a chance! A pointless tournament!
