Ever since I saw this sport I liked it a hell of a lot, but what’s to stop Lennox Lewis (a strong amateur) going in there, setting up a defensive formation and creaming his opponent in the first round? (other than the money)
why would someone invent a sport that inflicts brain damage on their opponent and then associate this activity with a purely intellectual endeavor like chess?
would you take a biathlete and mace him/her between rounds to see how well they shoot ?
I think “American Gladiators: Chess Blitz” would be appropriate.
The rule is: for every piece you take you can hit your opponent in the face and they cannot block the hit. They do th same to you. It reminds me of a Russian drinking game.
The last person standing or the first person who check-mates wins.
I guess if you hit someone in the face enough times, they won’t be able to see the board.
in which case,
boxers should practice blindfold chess…
better yet.
blindfold the players. let them slug it out while calling out moves.
that way you can play and fight at the same time
and you have to avoid being hit while your opponent targets his punches to your voice.
now that would be a GREAT match.
making use of your powers of memory, hearing,
punching accuracy and ventriloquism (well, OK, only if you could REALLY throw your voice).
