Some stats about the 2 players:

        In this tournament:
They have both played 14 games.
They have both gone into tiebreak only once.
Shirov has won 2 more games than Kamsky. But competition has been tougher for Kamsky:
        Shirov’s average opp. – 2639
        Kamsky’s average opp. – 2656

Shirov has already eliminated 2 americans (Onischuk & Shulman).
Kamsky has eliminated 3 2700+ players, including a 2732 player.

        SHIROV VS. KAMSKY:

1996 & earlier: They are tied with 6 wins and 8 draws.

After 1996: They have played 3 times, all of them on Nov’2007
2 blitz (each one won 1 game -with white) and only 1 standard game, that Shirov won due to Kamsky hanging a Knight.

I’m rooting for Kamsky, but I’d say it’s 55%-45% for Shirov.

So does GM Shipov. And the poll shows 55%-45% for Shirov right now.
