      World Mind Sports Games 2012

      China, World Mind Sports Games

      The World Mind Sports Games 2012 are going to take place in Beijing, China, 14-19 December. This year’s edition of the mind sports competition include bridge, chess, draughts, go, and xiangqui.

      The Minds Sports chess competition has three parts. Seven rounds of rapid chess will be played on the 14th and on the 15th of December. They are followed by two days of blitz competition for a total of 30 rounds, and later by seven rounds of blindfold chess.

      The participants are divided in groups of men and women. The highest rated women player is the ex World Champion Yifan Hou who is in the company of 15 of the top 24 women in the world. The men’s section includes 16 of the top 50 world players, headed by the top 10 players Levon Aronian, Teimour Radjabov, Sergey Karjakin, Hikaru Nakamura, Alexander Morozevich, and Vassily Ivanchuk.
