      World Schools Chess Championships 2014

      Brazil, World School Chess Championship


      The International Chess Federation (FIDE), the Brazilian Chess Federation (CBX), the Minas Gerais Chess Federation (FMX), the System X Schools Chess and Degraus Education System have the honor to announce the X World Schools Chess Championships 2014(Individual) to be held in Brazil, in the city of Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais state, between November 26 and December 4, 2014.

      Entitled to participate are players (Boys & Girls) at their respective categories:
      Under 07: Born after January 1, 2007
      Under 09: Born after January 1, 2005
      Under 11: Born after January 1, 2003
      Under 13: Born after January 1, 2001
      Under 15: Born after January 1, 1999
      Under 17: Born after January 1, 1997

      Game System: Swiss – 9 rounds.
      Time control: 90 minutes per player for 40 moves and 30 min for the rest of the game, with the addition of 30 seconds per move from the first move.

      The winner in each boy’s category will be acclaimed FIDE Chess Schools – World Champion 2014, and the winner in each female category will be acclaimed FIDE Chess Schools – Female World Champion 2014. According to the FIDE Regulations, all champions will receive the title of FIDE Candidate Master.

      The three schools with the highest score, considering the accumulation of points of their students (best 5 results of each federation or school), receive trophies of School World Champion of Schools Chess, Second place and Third place.

      Entries must be made by emailing comitemundial@ligax.com.br with copy to ai.elciomourao@gmail.com. The deadline for registration is October 28, 2014.
