      Zhang Zhong wins 6th ICC Dos Hermanas Qualifer

      Dos Hermanas, ICC, Zhang Zhong


      GM Zhang Zhong from China won the 6th ICC qualifier amidst some of the strongest competitions yet with 317 player competing.

      He scored better than Magus Carlsen, Gata Kamsky and Roman Dzindzichashvili.

        once again the young venezuelan IM eduardo iturrizaga (with the 3GM norms but only 2400 ´cause he doesnt have the support to travel abroad) showed all his talent. Iturrizaga was the player who increased most his rating in the latest chess olimpiad in turin beating Gm adgestein and then he finished 2 in the group b in capablaca memorial beating 3 gm.

        “Veigaman” (whoever you are) your young star you are following has been playing in EACH ONE. He’s done incredibly well!

        I suspect if he doesn’t win one of the last two then he’ll make it in on the “20 best non-winners”.

        Don’t give up hope!

        This kid has been pouring his heart and soul into this–The old saying in my country is: “Blood, sweat & tears”. 🙂
