      1st Qin Huangdao Open Chess Tournament

      The 1st Qin Huangdao Open Chess Tournament will be held in Qin Huangdao, Hebei, China from 30 September to 7 October 2011.

      Top rated players: Le Quang Liem VIE 2717, Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son VIE 2644, Wang Yue CHN 2716, Li Chao b CHN 2710, Bu Xiangzhi CHN 2666, Ding Liren CHN 2660, Yu Yangyi CHN 2646, Sandipan Chanda IND 2640, Negi Parimarjan IND 2631, Ganguly Surya Shekhar IND 2631 etc

      Organizers: Board and Card Games Administrative Center of the General Administration of Sport of China and Chinese Chess Association.

      Host: Hebei Provincial Sports Bureau, Qin Huangdao Municipal People’s Government.

      Co-organizer: Board and Card Games Administrative Center of Hebei Provincial Sports Bureau, Qin Huangdao Qiyuan, Hebei Yi Jia Hong Shun Co., Ltd.

      Registration: September 30, 2011
      Playing date: October 1-7, 2011
      Venue: Qin Huangdao, Hebei, China

      Players and Referees

      Players from the affiliated national federation of World Chess Federation are entitled to participate in the tournament.

      Arbiters and members of Appeals Committee are appointed by Board and Card Games Administrative Center of the General Administration of Sport of China. According to tournament requirement, assistants are appointed by Qin Huangdao Sports Bureau and Qin Huangdao Qiyuan.

      Tournament Regulations:

      1.The latest FIDE regulations shall be observed. ELO rating shall be calculated. The players can apply for titles.
      2. The tournament will be played over 9 rounds with Swiss system; 90′/end + 30” increment per move, starting from move 1.
      3. Competition Format:
      (1) Open Section: Players beyond 2200 will participate in open section. Age and gender are unlimited.
      (2) Amateur Section: Players below 2200 or who do not have ELO rating will participate in amateur section which will be divided into groups as follows according to ages and in which men category and women category are opened up:

      Group A: Players who were born before 31st, Dec, 1996
      Group B: Players who were born between 1st, Jan, 1997 and 31st, Dec, 1998
      Group C: Players who were born between 1st, Jan, 1999 and 31st, Dec, 2000
      Group D: Players who were born between 1st, Jan, 2001 and 31st, Dec, 2002
      Group E: Players who were born between 1st, Jan, 2003 and 31st, Dec, 2004
      Group F: Players who were born between 1st, Jan, 2005 and 31st, Dec, 2006
