      A French high-speed train broke the world speed record for conventional trains at 357.2 mph! What is the speed of the fastest train of any type and which country holds this record?

        Do not know about the speed but it is close to 600 kms / hour and the record is help by the Japanese bullet trains (they are electromagnetically levitated).

        The Japanese magnetic levitation train – Maglev – clocked 581Km/hr (361mph) in 2003.

        Call me a moron, but I’d guess the answers are 357.2 mph and France…….

        This is a little like asking, “What do you do when the lights go down?” I turn on the lights.

        Indeed, it is the Maglev in Japan that was 4mph faster than the French train. I guess the Japanese gals are a bit more petite.

        The Maglev and it’s from Shanghai not from Japan

        The main difference is that the Maglev is only a prototype (but an impressive one).

        The french train (TGV) is an upgraded version of the normal model, running on a regular track. So, in a sense it’s closer to the economical reality…
