True gentlemen are not afraid of beautiful and intelligent women.
Unfortunately, stupid/vulgar people are often quite vocal, making us feel sometimes – and unrightfully! – outnumbered…
Tania & Susan: you did a GREAT job during the match.
Keep up the good work,
From France,
Amaury
I agree with Amaury. Tania and Susan did great job during the championship. They are nice and intelligent people. Let’s not focus on what they look, but rather what they say and if they are on tourney, what they play.
I wish more strength for these women, especially Fanou, to fight against rudeness and vulgarity. I think we would need more women to play, not because of the looks, but to make changes to atmosphere.
Best regards

Sad, but unfortunately true… Still neanderthals alive today…
I suppose I shouldn’t have been surprised to see chat content on the website for the WCC that looked like what one might expect to see only on a porn website, but I was. One would hope that these comments were made only by persons who don’t normally follow chess events, but that is almost certainly wishful thinking. In any case, this should be a lesson learned: don’t repeat this experiment; the next time a tournament or match is broadcast, do not include a chat window.
And, please, no counter arguments about everyone’s God given right for equal time and for upholding democracy on the internet. Phooey.
Susan did just fine. Tania was a bit too chirpy and RB Ramesh had a noticeably forlorn look, once the game was up, for Anand. Therefore, in future, would it be better to have commentators from a neutral country?
Was truly pleased to meet up briefly, with photographer/husband Paul Truong & Susan Polgar at the JN Statium, Chennai.

It definitely added to the poignacy and the drama of the match to have the Indian commentators, Tania Sachdev and RB Ramesh. When Tania could not hold back her tears, we became most directly aware of how much Vishy Anand means to India. I would not want to have missed that. And they both did a very good job of commentary, including their on-the-spot analysis of the games. That the human element was so much a part of this highly visible match is a very good thing for chess.
