      Magnus Carlsen teases Giri at Tata Steel chess tournament
      World chess champion Magnus Carlsen ventured a risky line of the Modern Defence against Anish Giri after calling him a ‘coward’

      Magnus Carlsen was solid with black in the first round of the 77th Tata Steel tournament and drew with Anish Giri.

      There was some pre-match banter, with Carlsen, in jest, referring to his opponent as a “coward”.

      Giri is known for having a cautious approach and the world chess champion might have been hoping to provoke him, but it was not to be, even after Carlsen ventured a risky line of the Modern Defence.

      The queens were exchanged and then all the minor pieces.

        Nakamura is now second to wesley in usa chess federation, and will always be. It’s time for him (nakamura) to work harder

        Nakamura’s brain has maxed out at age 27 and has no more room for improvement no matter how hard he tries to improve his chess skills.
