Czech Grandmaster Vlastimil Hort celebrates his 65th birthday today. He was one of the world’s leading players in the 1960s and 1970s. In 1970 Hort played on board 4 in the famous match USSR vs. Rest of the World, scoring ‘+1’ against Polugaevsky.
While Hort still plays in tournaments occasionally, nowadays he is more known as a chess commentator.
