      PM greets Topalov for victory

      PM Stanishev greets Veselin Topalov for the victory
      18 February 2009 21:16 FOCUS News Agency

      Sofia. Prime Minister /PM/ Sergey Stanshev greeted оn the phone Bulgarian world chessmate champion pretenders Veselin Topalov for the victory on the second game against American Gata Kamsky, government press office informs.

      Prime Minister wished him calm game and success until the end of the game. Stanshev expressed his hope the first symbolic move he made at the behalf of Bulgarian chessmate at the start of the game will bring him luck during the whole period until the end of the game.

      The game is under the patronage of Prime Minister Stanishev.

        Did the Prime Minister just call Topalov a “pretender”? Or does the word just mean something completely different in Bulgarian?
