He has done it before. His posts opposing the benefits of chess on children were very very unusual a couple of months ago here. I thought he might be a child to explain it but after I googled his name–apparently someone with his name is involved in scientific endeavors .
IN any event Susan’s recent endeavors need no advocates. Chess AND CHILDREN are OBVIOUSLY benefitting GREATLY.
ALSO , Women and girls. These latter being a threat to some.
NOW IF I COULD JUST FIND OUT WHAT CHANNEL IN NY/NJ MASTERMINDS WILL BE ON AND AT WHAT TIME?????
OK, here are my apologies, then. My post was indeed a bit rude. Why I posted it? Because I really want to know what drives Susan and I also want to counterweight al these “you are so great comments”.
She’s great. No other player in the world promotes chess more than she does. What’s the problem with people truly appreciating her efforts? Which other world champion or GM take the time to chat with us patzer? No one.

No problem at all. But should there be a problem with a person, like me, who is little bit critical? I don’t think so.
Yes, it’s a problem. You should only be critical when someone does something bad. She has only done good thing for chess. What’s there to be critical about? You were being rude before.

In my opinion chess is not such a nice game to promote. Chess is too complicated and it is too much about winning. There is no other game were people feel so disgusted when they loose.
For once, I agree with Peter…there is too much emphasis on winning at all costs in chess…especially for children in the preoperational stage. It is bad influence. Instead, they should play a much wider variety of games until they are much older, and beyond changing…like peter
Those who say that it is to complicated and that it is too much about winning don’t really understand the game. First of all, chess may look like a complicated game, but it is actually quite easy to understand, that is, if you try to understand it. I learned how to play chess when I was in 1st grade and I wasn’t too smart then. As a whole, strategy is pretty easy to understand as well (you may run into some problems memorizing certain opening lines, but in general, memorizing strategy is easy, too . Second of all, isn’t the objective of almost all the games in the world to win? How is it to much about winning? And how can you prove that there is no other game in which people feel disgusted when they lose?
