      The 27th SEA Games – Results

      Myanmar, SEA


      The 27th SEA Games held in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar, from 11 to 22 December 2013 saw sport-loving nation Thailand emerging as the overall winner in the 35 sport disciplines. In the Chess discipline, Thailand also came out tops with 7 Gold medals among the 18 events.

      Indonesian WGM Irene Sukandar captured 2 individual gold medals – her first gold since participation began in 2003. She took both the Blitz and Rapid titles. This was also the first time that the Vietnamese women failed to register any gold medal. Vietnamese GM Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son took both the Blitz and Rapid events. Indonesian GM Susanto Megaranto won Chess 960 while he and his compatriots were victorious in both the Transfer Chess Men’s and Mixed Pairs.

      The next edition of the SEA Games will be held in Singapore 2015.
